10-Week Women's Healing Journey

Honouring ancient wisdom, cultural story, and the journey home to self.

Where Rainbow Songlines Began

The Rainbow Songlines Women's Healing Program was a 10-week cultural healing journey developed by Karen Reys and delivered over a number of years through workshops, retreats, cultural practices, and time on Country. Inspired by the Rainbow Songlines Flags, the program brought together story, creativity, cultural knowledge, ceremony, and deep listening to support healing, connection, and personal growth.

While the full program is not currently being offered, its teachings continue to inform the work of CEED Healing and continue through Rainbow Songlines: A Journey Back to Self.

If you are interested in future Women's Healing Program offerings, please contact us to register your interest. Programs may be offered for groups of 10 or more participants.

Program Elements

Over 10 weeks, women were supported by Traditional Owners, Elders, facilitators, and guest presenters through a culturally grounded journey of learning, reflection, healing, and reconnection. Guided by story, deep listening, and time on Country, participants explored identity, belonging, and pathways back to self.

Cultural & Creative Practices

The program included Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremonies, Deep Listening (Gurrilbu), walks on Country, cultural storytelling, healing practices, guided meditation, contemporary dance, rock art experiences, weaving, singing, painting, and clay work. These experiences provided creative and cultural pathways for learning, self-expression, and connection.

Camping - Returning to Country

The major workshop culminated in a two-day camping retreat north of Cairns. Participants engaged in a cultural rock art tour, spent time on Country with Elder Uncle Willie Gordon, and experienced opportunities for quiet reflection, cultural learning, and connection with the natural environment.

Story & Songlines Workshops

The Story & Songlines Workshops served as an introduction to the broader Women's Healing Program. Through story, Songlines, and shared cultural experiences, participants explored themes of identity, belonging, and reconnection. Women who continued into the full program participated in additional workshops and the camping retreat, deepening their learning through ongoing reflection, cultural practice, and community connection.

What People Are Saying

"The cultural healing program gave 'me time' which enabled me to reflect on my life and relationships and inspired me to go on my own journey." – Jennifer, 2021

"What Karen does is give people a voice in a non-judgemental environment. She encourages and opens up problem solving and discussions. I think the Rainbow Song Line Workshops includes all of us, it's a collective and she humbly sets that up and guides or facilitates the processes." – Hannah, 2020
